You have been admitted to the program and now want to enroll? Then you’ve come to the right place!
Upon successful admission to the degree program and your binding acceptance via UTNexus you can start with the enrollment process OR: you can enroll!
Enrollment process
Once you have accepted your study place offer on your UTNexus account, you can begin the enrollment process. Please use the “Supplement Data” button to upload all documents required for enrollment. After completion, you will be able to download the enrollment application form. Please sign it by hand or digitally and upload it in your UTNexus account as well
Please upload these documents to UTNexus:
ID or passport
Visa / Residence permit (if necessary) – please note: you can finish enrollment without the visa/residence permit. However, all students must arrive at UTN in person by 31 October at the latest. If you require a visa/residence permit you must therefore submit it by this date.
Passport photo
Your educational certificates (university entrance qualification, final degree certificate, transcript of records) as authentic documents
If your graduation documents are not issued in German or English, you must additionally provide a translation.
Please upload only one PDF file per document. This PDF file must contain:
• the document in the original language, and
• the translation (German or English) prepared by a sworn official translator.
The translation must bear the seal and signature of the sworn translator.
China: Graduation documents issued by Chinese schools or universities must bear both the red round seal and the embossed round seal of the university or notary in order to be recognized as authentic documents.
Georgia: Graduation documents for enrollment must be uploaded as notarized copies with an apostille. The apostille must be affixed to both the original Georgian-language document and the translation.
Iran: Graduation documents must be submitted in legalized form for enrollment. Information on legalization can be found on the website of the German Embassy in Tehran.
The certificate must confirm that you have successfully completed your degree and that the academic title has been awarded to you. It must be issued by the responsible authority, such as the examination board. The final transcript of records must list all examinations taken as well as the overall grade.
The authenticity requirements described above also apply in this case.
Please note: A hope certificate stating that you are expected to pass your exams and graduate is not sufficient for enrollment. The Bachelor’s thesis must have been graded.
Please note: A certified copy is a copy of an original document that has been confirmed as authentic by an official person, authority or institution (such as a notary public, a university, or a government office). Print-outs of certified copies cannot be accepted for enrollment.
Transfer semester fee
The semester fee is 72 euros and must be paid before your initial enrollment as well as for each subsequent semester. You can find the payment details in your UTNexus account.
Please note that processing your payment can take around 1 – 2 weeks. Make sure to make the payment in time to meet the enrollment deadline (30 September for the winter semester).
Please make sure to keep proof of your payment.
Health insurance
All students are required to have health insurance in Germany. You cannot be enrolled without health insurance.
Enrollment applications received before the insurance company has transmitted confirmation of your insurance status will be processed once received. UTN’s official university number is H0003881, in case you need to reference it. You need to apply for this transfer with your health insurance company directly.
Private health insurance
Do you have private health insurance? You still need to apply for transfer of your insurance status with a statutory health insurance company of your choice. In order to do so, you need to send your proof of private health insurance to a statutory health insurance company.
Foreign health insurance
EU or country with social security agreement: Present your EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) or PEB (provisional replacement for EHIC) to a German statutory health insurance. Then the transfer of your insurance status to UTN will proceed.
Non-EU country or country without social security agreement. The statutory health insurances can verify and possibly accept your foreign insurance. In case the insurance can not be accepted, you must also get insured by a German, statutory health insurance company.
You will find a list of the statutory health insurance companies on the website krankenkassen.de.
