Your Start at UTN

Before arriving in Nuremberg, there are some things you should consider in preparing for your arrival as well as your studies.

Living in Nürnberg

One of the most important tasks before starting your studies or job is to search for a suitable apartment. Since housing is in high demand, especially at the beginning of each semester, we recommend you start looking for a suitable room or apartment as early as possible, ideally as soon as you have been admitted or accepted a job at UTN.

The Journey to Nuremberg

Nuremberg is very well connected nationally and internationally. As Albrecht Dürer Airport Nürnberg is served by major airlines several times each day, it is a good destination airport for international travelers. From the airport, you can reach Nuremberg’s city center in just a few minutes by subway.

Even from Germany’s largest airport, Frankfurt Airport , you can reach Nuremberg’s main train station in just under two and a half hours by ICE train.

BAföG Application

The Federal Government offers financial assistance for training and studies with the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG). Currently, the maximum monthly rate is 934 EUR. You can get all of the information you need about BAföG directly from the Studierendenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg or from the BayernPortal.

If you have any questions about your BAföG application, the Amt für Ausbildungsförderung in Nuremberg will be happy to help you.
