What makes UTN unique to you?
A small class size, interdisciplinary curriculum, high quality education and the opportunity to interact and learn from people of various cultures and backgrounds make UTN so special and unique to me.
What has been your most memorable moment at UTN?
Stepping onto campus on my first day in a new university and new country, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves. However, the warm welcome at UTN made the transition seamless. To my delight, I discovered my cohort consisted of just ten students representing seven different countries – a uniquely global environment for our two-year journey together.
If you could give your first-year self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Plan with purpose, but move with flexibility – embrace the unexpected and enjoy the journey along the way.
One place (at UTN or in Nuremberg). One memory.
From student days to official workplace – the Ulmenstraße campus has been home to my university life and now my next career chapter. It holds countless great memories and remains a special landmark in my Nuremberg journey.
What was the funniest or most unexpected moment during your studies?
Knowing I was part of a brand-new university’s inaugural cohort was exciting, but discovering our group consisted of just ten students representing seven different countries was an extraordinary surprise.
What would be the soundtrack of your time at UTN?
A mix of steady tempos and high-tempo beats, but always powered by non-stop energy.
Is there a sentence, quote, or piece of advice from your time at UTN that has stayed with you?
Never stop learning, because life never stops teaching.
What’s next for you after graduation?
I am thrilled to be beginning my doctoral research journey at UTN’s Machine Learning Lab, where I will be collaborating with another incredible team.

UTN Celebrates Its First Graduates
UTN celebrated its first Graduation Ceremony, marking a historic milestone for the University of Technology Nuremberg. Seven graduates received master’s degrees in Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, while UTN also honored its first two Ph.D. graduates and presented the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award to Timothy Leonard.
