Creating Impact Together.
Student organizations are at the heart of campus life: they bring people together, connect different perspectives, and create spaces where curiosity can turn into real projects. At UTN, you can get involved, try out new ideas, and help shape campus life—at your own pace and around the topics that truly matter to you.
From sustainability and culture to education, innovation, and international networking: here you will find initiatives that inspire you. Is your idea still missing? Then take the first step and start your own group.
Active Student Groups
The following groups are currently listed as active at UTN:
UTN Outdoors Club
The Outdoor Activities Group is open to all students who are interested in engaging in shared activities in nature. Activities include hiking, hut-to-hut tours, camping, sport climbing and bouldering (including indoor climbing), bikepacking, as well as other outdoor and movement-oriented leisure activities. The group thrives on the initiative and commitment of its members: individual interests and ideas are welcome and can be developed into concrete activities and events together.

The Next Token Society
The Next Token Society is a student group centered on one big idea: building highly quantized systems that are efficient, practical, and impactful. We start with language models and a chatbot for future UTN students, while exploring low-bit LLMs, quantization, PEFT, and alignment. In the future, we go beyond this into VLMs and world models.
Open to all UTN students, the group brings together people who want to build, discuss, experiment, and push Artificial Intelligence forward through workshops, and hackathons.

Women in AI
Women in AI is a women-led student club focused on building, exploring, and discussing Artificial Intelligence. They organize hands-on projects, technical talks, and collaborative events to not only strengthen their skills, but also increase the visibility of women in AI, and foster a supportive, ambitious community.
Women in AI is open to all UTN students, with a focus on leadership, learning, and real-world impact.

How It Works at UTN
Student groups can apply for official recognition at UTN. Recognized groups are listed in the UTN directory and can access support services such as digital tools, information about events, and, where available, rooms for meetings and activities.
Further details on the requirements and the process are outlined in the relevant guidelines. The recognition process is coordinated through the UTN School of Students and Young Researchers (StaRs).
