The University of Technology Nuremberg (UTN) is further expanding its network of partners from industry, academia, and local governments across the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. The focus is on establishing new connections and collaborations in the areas of energy, climate action, and sustainability.
Initial discussions between EnergieRegion Nürnberg and UTN have already identified several opportunities for collaboration. These will be explored further and developed into more concrete initiatives.
“At UTN, research, teaching, and knowledge transfer go hand in hand. This requires people who bring together knowledge and different perspectives, as well as strong networks that turn these connections into collaboration. EnergieRegion provides an important regional platform for this, creating opportunities for exchange, new connections, and joint initiatives,” says Arina Zonner, Vice President of UTN.
EnergieRegion Nürnberg e.V. is a network dedicated to energy and sustainability in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. It brings together approximately 85 members from industry, academia, and local governments, promoting exchange and collaboration through events, expert information, and various networking opportunities.
At UTN, several research groups focus on energy-related topics, including Energy Systems and Market Design, Analytics and Optimization, and Discrete Optimization. The intersection of energy, artificial intelligence, and mathematical optimization is becoming increasingly important. Current research projects cover topics ranging from resilient energy systems and green hydrogen to climate-neutral urban neighborhoods.
