Abstract: The subproject aims to mathematically optimize production and supply chains in the (organic) food sector. Pioneering criteria for this are increasing food quality, reducing food waste, sustainable stock management and cost reductions in production companies. In principle, improvements can be achieved at various points along the value chain – from harvesting and storage to production and delivery, potentials can be identified and exploited using suitable methods from mathematical optimization in order to achieve significant progress. In this project, the focus is on two planning challenges in logistics – the production and distribution of food.
