Machine Intelligence Lab

Prof. Dr. Florian Walter

The Machine Intelligence Lab investigates how robots can autonomously learn to understand and interact with their environment. Our research aims to enable them to explore their surroundings and solve complex problems with minimal external supervision. The tools, models, and algorithms we design focus on tasks such as representation learning, object manipulation, and human-robot collaboration. To make robots easy to use, learn efficiently, and act intelligently, we also draw inspiration from biology and the brain. As part of our research, we develop simulations, create virtual environments, and design innovative neural network architectures and algorithms that we apply to both simulated and physical robots. Our goal is to advance the field of intelligent robots and machines to make them available for new applications in industry and at home.
