Anlässlich des vierhundertsten Todestages von Francis Bacon (1561–1626) verfolgt diese internationale Konferenz das Ziel, Bacons philosophisches, wissenschaftliches, literarisches und kulturelles Erbe sowie die Komplexität seiner Rezeption im frühneuzeitlichen Europa neu zu bewerten.
Die Konferenz wird von Dana Jalobeanu und Rodolfo Garau an der University of Technology Nuremberg (UTN) organisiert, dank der großzügigen Unterstützung durch eine Förderung der Thyssen Stiftung.
Die Tagung versammelt Forscherinnen und Forscher aus der Bacon-Forschung und angrenzenden Bereichen, darunter die Philosophie der Frühen Neuzeit, die Wissenschaftsgeschichte und die Literaturwissenschaft, unter ihnen Doina-Cristina Rusu, Peter Anstey, Claudia Dimitru, Mordechai Feingold, Daniel Garber, Vera Keller, Silvia Manzo, Claire Crignon, Richard Serjeantson, Oana Matei, Angus Vine, Grigore Vida und Cesare Pastorino.
